Hey Omni members & guests, we are hosting another biggest loser contest here at Omni. If you have 15 lbs or more to lose we can help get you a great start on losing the weight. The contest offers the right support to help you make the changes you need to get the changes you want. If you are a current member you can participate in the contest for only the $35.00 contest fee. You can also participate for free! Just bring a new guest to participate in the contest with you and get started with an ongoing membership plan here at the club and you may participate for free. You may also give that free contest to a friend or family member.

Weight Training Basics

Introductory Weight Training Class

Hey Omni! I hope everyone is doing well. I have noticed that there are a good number of folks that have needed some instruction in basic weight training. In past months I have offered an introductory weight training class to help those who would like some additional instruction on how to utilize the circuit training area of the club more effectively. I cover everything from how much weight to lift and how many sets to which exercises and how often you should lift.

If you would like to participate in this type of class, please let me know by email or at the club on your next visit. If there is enough interest, I'll have a sign up sheet at the front desk so please let me know if you're interested.

I will also be posting an online training video as well shortly so be sure to check out the member connection area in the next week or so. In the mean time keep up those workouts and don't forget to say "hey" when you're here at the club!

Hot Summer Days!

Well, here we are in the hot days of summer. It's hard to get motivated to do much of anything much less to get your body to the gym for a workout. How are you managing to keep the fitness ball rolling? Like most of you I am sure, I just get it done early before the heat hits in full force. Staying well hydrated is critical too, just make sure most of your hydration comes from water and not so much from other favorite summer beverages that can actually dehydrate your body. I'll let you figure out what those are for you!

It's also a tough time to stay on a good nutritional track with barbecue's, parties and such. For me the summer is no different than the rest of the year-i just make sure I plan my meals, prepare them ahead of time and take them with me everywhere I go! If I don't have something good handy, it's really hard to find something good away from home. What's your dog days of summer looking like? What are the challenges and successes for you so far this year? Hey, I can always use some more great ideas to make my healthy & fit lifestyle even more fun and productive!
